JVC DVHS VTR Recorders
These units record and play back the pre-encoded HD or SD compressed digital ATSC 19.39Mb/s digital transmission signal or DVB MPEG-2 Transport Stream (up to approximately 25Mb/s picture plus audio) received from compatible devices.  Note: where IEEE is used for DTV (HD or SD, device and mode depending), the interface required uses IEC 61883-4 Protocol (not the DV IEEE 1394 codec, but rather a special implementation for HD/DTV MPEG-2 Transport Stream).

ATSC DTV IEEE 1394 Terminal I/O* for off-air HDTV recording.
Built-in MPEG 2 SD and HD Main Profile decoder for 4:2:0 analog playback.
D-VHS format recording and playback up to 28.2 Mb/s
Ideal distribution VTR for JVC's JY-HD10U HDTV Camcorder
Built-in MPEG-2 main profile 4:2:0 standard definition encoder
Allows for DV IEEE to/from MPEG-2 standard definition recording
DVHS standard definition format digital recording and analog playback at 480i or ATSC DTV IEEE digital recording/digital playback of off-air HD or SD encoded transport stream signals*. Analog playback** at 480i, 720p, or 1080i.
*Note: This unit requires compatible set top box DTV digital tuner with IEEE1394 interface to record and play back a digital ATSC compliant DTV 19.3Mb/s up to 25 Mb/s 188 byte MPEG-2 encoded Transport Stream from "off-air" broadcasts (subject to the restrictions of Broadcast Flag and digital content management copyright considerations. **Requires password to play back password protected tapes (ProScramble password mode) recorded on the SR-VDA300US (see above).  HD Recording is only possible from a pre-encoded signal conforming to IEEE IEC-61883-4 MPEG-2 HD Transport Stream standards (actual stream data rate recordable is up to approximately 25 Mb/s).   Able to record from JVC's JY-HD10U MPEG-2 HD Camcorder using IEEE.  Also plays JVC's original Scramble Technology.
