Note: Regarding LCD in general, when the input resolution is not the native panel resolution, mapping takes place within the panel which will alter the original signal resolution according to the physical limitations of the LCD panel.  Other conditions will affect the LCD panel performance, such as the original signal depth of modulation, and bit depth.
