camcorder, and added HDV 720-24p and HDV 1080-24p templates.

Sony's Professional HDV Family
Sony offers Vegas Pro 8 Editing Software at additional cost which can operate on the Windows XP Platform. Sony has also introduced a number of HDV playback decks (HVRM15U, HVRM25U, and the HVR1500) and certain cross-compatability with .M2T 25Mb/s HDV-2 streams in the XDCAM-HD storage format - see XDCAM HD options section of this web site and Sony for more information about recording these streams in optioned PDW XDCAM HD units). Additional Notes for HVRZ1U Camcorder
SMPTE time code with presets DF/NDF select, RecRun/Free Run select Reset and Re-generation enables frame-accurate access to recorded scenes. Built-in HD i.LINK® downconversion to standard definition DV from HDV-2 tape playback. Flexible aspect ratio conversion in down convert from 16:9 to 4:3 with a choice of squeeze, crop or letterbox. Smooth Slow Memory Buffer Recording up to 3 seconds
High Speed 240 fields/second video image capture at reduced resolution can be buffered up to 3 seconds using the Smooth Slow Record buffer memory function, and then recorded to tape. Playback off of tape of a 3 second clip recorded in this fashion lasts up to 12 seconds.
Still Image Recording Functions*
Using optional Memory Stick Duo Media, a maximum 6.1M (2848x2136) 4:3 still images in Photo Mode can be recorded, 4.6M 16:9 still images can be recorded in Dual Record Mode; 1.2M (1440x810) still images can be captured and recorded off HDV-2 tape playback.
*No flash on this unit, shutter speeds for Photo Mode drop to maximum of 1/500 sec., all photo record and capture modes are non-real time.
Super NightShot™
Built-in infrared light emitter allows* zero lux light levels to be recorded in black and white.
*Limited effective range of emitter must be taken into consideration when attempting to record images in this fashion
