The HXC-100 camera is equipped with field-proven 2/3-inch type full-resolution 1920 x 1080 HD Power HAD FX CCDs. Due to Sony’s advanced sensor technologies, the CCD imager offers a high sensitivity of F10 for 59.94 Hz and F11 for 50 Hz with high signal-to-noise ratios (S/N) of -55 dB (HD) and -65 dB (NTSC)/-63 dB (PAL). All of these excellent features capture high-quality pictures in all kinds of demanding shooting environments. In addition to the camera’s high performance, a wide range of capturing modes are available including 1080/50i, 1080/59.94i, 720/50P, 720/59.94P, 576/50i, and 480/59.94i.The HXC-100 camera incorporates a highperformance 14-bit A/D converter that enables images captured by the high-performance CCDs to be processed with maximum precision. Also, the newly incorporated Auto Lens Aberration Compensation function can optimize lens performance to provide stunning picture quality.

The HXC-100 camera utilizes a very high-quality digital triax system that expands its operability in
field applications, as well as for studio production and can be integrated into conventional triax-based
infrastructures, enabling an easy upgrade from existing systems. Outputs include HD-SDI, SD-SDI, VF signal, return signal and SDI Prompter signal along with an intercom channel (ENG/PROD). Its robust, rigid design, possition-adjustable shoulder pad and focus assist functions make it an optimal camera for stable, on-location shooting.

Finally, in order to meet a broad array of customer demands, seven types of standard-gamma and four types of hyper-gamma tables are provided for maximum in-camera contrast control. The Multi-Matrix, Low -key and Knee Saturation Functions of the HXC-100 allow unprecedented control over natural color reproduction in-camera.

  • 1920x1080 16:9
  • High-sensitivity of F10
  • Excellent signal-to-noise ratio of 54 dB
  • A wide variety of capturing modes - 1080/50i, 1080/60i, 1080/24P, 1080/25P, 1080/30P, 1080/60P, 720/50P, 720/60P
  • Optical fiber digital transmission
  • Memory Stick storage of camera setup parameters

Supports 1080i(50/59.94/60), 720p(50/59.94/60), 1080p(23.98/24/25/29.97/30).  Uses the latest semi-conductor technology to achieve 14 bit A/D conversion.  Integrated 2:3 pull down circuit to minimize flicker in viewfinder.  2x viewfinder video expander.  External Data line (RS232C or RS422).  Multi-matrix color correction.  Uses the new HDCU-1500L 1/2 rack width CCU (with 2 option slots) or HDCU-1000L Full Rack CCU, which both support tele-prompter power (200VA) and long distance fiber transmission, a standard 2-3 pull down circuit, HD/SD switchable return video, remote control capability by Ethernet (file management, setup, and remote diagnosis), and for the HDCU-1000L only, 4 expansion slots for I/O modules (HKCU-1001 VBS Analog Output Interface, HKCU-1003 VBS Multi-Interface Analog 24p System (with frame reference I/O), HKCU-1005 HD-SDI/SDI Expansion I/F).

Both CCUs can be compatible with RCP-700 series, MSU-700A/750 and MSU-900/950 control systems.   The optional Sony HDTX-100 Camera Head I/F Fiber (digital) to Triax (analog) adapter unit (2RU x 1/2 rack width and rain proof) and the Sony HDFX-100 (AC powered) CCU I/F unit (3RU x 1/2 rack width) for Triax to Fiber support the HD Triax system (1,400 meters with Fujikura 14.5mm Triax cable, or 1,000 meters with Belden 13.2mm Triax cable).  The HDVF700A 7" B&W Studio EVF and HDVFC700W 6" Color EVF can be used, as can the HDVF9900 EVF, or HDVF-20A 2" B&W viewfinder, or the new (for 2006) HDVFC730W 6.3" LCD Viewfinder.

The HDLA-1500 Studio Build Up Kit (and Large Lens Adapter) is not required, however, for the new Canon DigiSuper 22xs HD Compact Studio Lens. As there is no image inversion in this camera head (or associated horizontal flip), one would use the Canon HD-EC Anamorphic Converter ACV-235 optional 3rd party accessory in order to use a Canon Master Lens HD-EC series prime lens.

See the notes for the HDC-1000L above. Supports 1080i(50/59.94/60) YUV "4:2:2", 720p(50/59.94/60) YUV "4:2:2", or 1080p(23.98/24/25/29.97/30), YUV "4:2:2".  With optional Sony modification, the HDC-1500L or HDC-1550 head can produce RGB "4:4:4" 1080p(23.98/24/25/29.97/30) in "standalone" mode, meaning out of a spare HD-SDI connector on the camera head, not via fiber or triax at the CCU (the CCU mode can only produce YUV "4:2:2" output only, there is no dual link out of the CCU).   These camera heads cannot be used with the HDCUF950.

The optional HDLA-1500 large lens adapter studio build-up kit, which can be used for both fiber and triax versions of the HDC-1500L, allows for rapid insertion and removeal of the portable unit into the camera dock (no adjustment is required to mount the camera, and the body length is the same as the HDC-1000 studio camera).

The HDLA-1500 Studio Build Up Kit (and Large Lens Adapter) is not required, however, for the new Canon DigiSuper 22xs HD Compact Studio Lens.
